sustainability, business responsibility and ethical practices. This lecture will take place at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on the eve of CRB’s 4th Annual conference – “INDIA & SUSTAINABILITY STANDARDS: International Dialogue & Conference 2017.”

CRB Founding Day Lectures will be delivered by Prof. Dirk Matten, and Prof Klaus Leisinger. Prof. Dirk Matten is a Professor of Strategy and holds Hewlett-Packard Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility at Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto while Prof.  Klaus Leisinger is the President at Global Values Alliance and UN Special Advisor on the Post-2015 Development and Business Ethics. This special lecture’s session will be chaired by Prof. Pawan Budhwar, Professor of International HRM, Co-Director of Aston India Centre for Applied Research and Board Member, CRB.

Our foundation is driven by these four verticals that facilitates an ecosystem for uptake on sustainable business practices and create impact on the ground. Over the years, we have pioneered multi-stakeholder engagement on sustainable business related issues in India, using the framework of voluntary sustainability standards.

Incubated by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH of Germany, Social Accountability International (SAI) of US and Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) in 2010, CRB evolved as an independent organization on 14 November 2011. Now it
works with multiple stakeholders to promote responsible business strategies, policies and practices. Based out of New Delhi with global orientation, we work across verticals ‘to facilitate an ecosystem for uptake of sustainable business practices, thereby creating impacts on the ground’. Our Activities include:

Action and Policy Research focused around social & environmental sustainability of business, and human rights

Training and Capacity Building of various actors in the supply chain to help them adhere to domestic government and/or industry demands and of international brands and standards

Customised Advisory Services and Technical Assistance facilitating businesses to integrate environmental, social & governance parameters at strategic, managerial and operations levels

Establish Fora for multiple stakeholder to enable collaborative approaches aimed at developing solutions for sustainability challenges

Our orientation is to facilitate an ecosystem for uptake on sustainable business practices and create impact on the ground. Over the years, we have pioneered multi-stakeholder engagement on sustainable business related issues in India, using the framework of voluntary sustainability standards.

CRB draws strength from its core team of professionals and its extended network of specialists, and deploys a research informed and action-oriented approach. CRB endeavors to integrate the ‘sustainability agenda’ into India’s growth story and highlight the country’s contribution to global sustainability solutions, through that. CRB has been recognised by/affiliated to some national and international initiatives and organisation of repute. The noteworthy ones are:

In Corporate sector, CRB partnered with premier global brands and worked with over 250 factories, 1000 middle management representatives and reached out to over 150,000 workers so far.
